The Arched Cane-Back Chair is a tall, elegant dining chair with a back panel of woven cane framed in timber and finished with a softly arched top. The cane runs almost the full height of the back, giving a light, airy look from across the room. The seat is a padded pad in rose-red leather-look upholstery, set into a timber seat frame.
The frame is solid hardwood in a warm walnut stain with gently curved back legs, straight front legs and low stretchers on the sides and back.
Why it works in a pub. The tall cane back sits comfortably against panelled walls and fixed seating, and the faux leather seat wipes clean after food service. Cane brings a lighter note to a dark, timber-heavy bar.
Construction. Solid hardwood, mortise-and-tenon joints with corner blocks, machine-woven cane set in a routed groove, seat on a plywood board that can be unscrewed and re-covered.
Where it works. Pub dining rooms, restaurant tables opposite banquettes and hotel breakfast rooms.
Options. Stain, cane in natural or black, seat colour in faux leather or fabric, felt or nylon glides.
