Measured in metres, drawn to the millimetre

Old pubs are not square. Walls lean, floors fall towards the cellar flap and no two alcoves match. We work from your survey, not a catalogue length, and return a drawing with every section, joint and fixing point dimensioned in millimetres. Nothing is cut until you have signed it off.

Specified for UK fire rules

Seating in pubs, restaurants and hotels is normally expected to meet BS 7176 at medium hazard, which includes the BS 5852 Crib 5 test. We specify fire-retardant foams, interliners and fabrics to that standard on request, and supply test documentation for the specific item where available, so your fire risk assessment has the paperwork it needs.

In through the door, not round it

In through the door, not round it

A three-metre banquette is no use if the only way in is a 760 mm door off a narrow corridor. We plan section lengths around your delivery route, join them invisibly on site and label every piece to the drawing. Booth & Bench is a line by EASEN Commercial Furniture, shipped direct from our own production base in Foshan.

04How we work
  1. 1

    Survey and brief

Send us a floor plan, a measured sketch or photographs with a tape in shot, plus covers, style and any fabric you have in mind. We can talk you through measuring an awkward room.

  2. 2

    Layout and quotation

We propose runs, booth bays and table sizes, and quote per metre with options priced separately: back style, fabric grade, end panels, fire specification and delivery terms.

  3. 3

    Drawings and sample

You approve dimensioned drawings for each run, showing section joints and fixings. A sample section, or upholstered fabric panels, can be made before full production on request.

  4. 4

    Making and checking

Frames, foam and upholstery are built in our Foshan production base. Before packing we check every section against the drawing and send you photographs of the finished pieces.

  5. 5

    Delivery and fitting

Sections arrive labelled and export-packed. Your shopfitter or joiner fixes them to wall and floor using the details on the drawing; we stay on hand by phone and video throughout.

07Questions answered
What fire standard does pub seating need to meet in the UK?

Upholstered seating in pubs, restaurants and hotels is normally specified to BS 7176 at medium hazard, which includes ignition tests to BS 5852, including Crib 5. The legal duty sits with the responsible person under the fire safety legislation for your part of the UK, through the fire risk assessment, so confirm the hazard level with your fire risk assessor. We specify foams and fabrics to meet it on request.

Is BS 7176 the same as BS 5852?

No. BS 5852 is a test method: it sets out ignition sources, from a smouldering cigarette to wooden cribs, and how to apply them. BS 7176 is the specification for non-domestic seating: it says which BS 5852 ignition sources a particular hazard category must pass. Medium hazard under BS 7176 includes cigarette, match and Crib 5 tests.

Does this apply in Ireland?

Irish contract specifications commonly reference the same BS 7176 and BS 5852 test regime for seating in licensed premises and hotels. Requirements can vary by project and building, so check with your fire safety consultant or the local fire authority, and tell us what they require.

How do you price fixed seating?

We quote per linear metre for each style of seating, then list options separately: back height and style, fabric or leather, fire specification, end panels, storage and delivery terms. We do not publish price lists; every quotation is built from your drawing and survey.

Will the seating fit through our door?

That is planned at the quotation stage. Tell us the narrowest door, the tightest turn and any stairs on the delivery route. Standard UK internal doors are often 762 or 838 mm wide, with a smaller clear opening. We size sections to suit and join them on site.

Where is Booth & Bench seating made?

Booth & Bench is a line by EASEN Commercial Furniture. Everything is made to order in our own production base in Lecong, Foshan, in Guangdong, China, and shipped direct to your venue. We do not hold UK stock, which is how we keep the work bespoke and the pricing factory-direct.
