Small venues run out of storage before they run out of seats. This corner bench answers both: an L-shaped run with a plain upholstered back in cream fabric and a seat that hinges up on gas stays, opening a full-length storage box beneath. Linen, high chairs, spare cushions or board games go inside, out of sight but within reach of the floor team.
The seat lid is upholstered on its top and edge, so when closed it reads as a normal cushion. Inside, the box is lined in a dark wipeable finish. The bench sits on a light oak plinth, and is shown with a square oak table on a pedestal base and an oak dining chair with an upholstered seat.
Construction. Hardwood and plywood carcass with internal dividers; lift-up lids on concealed hinges with soft-close stays that hold the seat open; safety gap at the hinge to protect fingers; oak-veneered plinth.
Where it works. Cafés and bistros with little back-of-house space, hotel apartments and serviced residences, staff rooms and small pub dining rooms.
Options. Left or right hand, each side's length, fabric or faux leather, lockable lids, and drawer fronts instead of lift seats. Foams and fabrics specified to BS 7176 medium hazard on request.
