This is a quiet, durable banquette with one decorative move: the back is stitched in large diamonds. The quilting is flat, with no buttons, so there is nowhere for crumbs to lodge and nothing to snag on a coat. The fabric is a mid-grey woven texture, and the end of the back is covered in a slightly warmer grey.
The seat is black faux leather, square-edged and deep, the part of the banquette that takes spills and is wiped down every night. A dark timber plinth carries it, set back from the seat front for toe room.
Construction. Hardwood and plywood frame, rigid seat box with high-resilience foam; back panel stitched through a thin foam and scrim layer for crisp quilting lines, then fixed to the frame; adjustable feet hidden in the plinth.
Where it works. Pubs and bars, hotel breakfast rooms, family restaurants and café-bars that want a little pattern without a high-maintenance finish.
Options. Diamond size, fabric and seat colour, back height, run length in sections and matching end panels in timber or upholstery. Contract fabrics and faux leathers specified to BS 7176 medium hazard on request.
