The back of this banquette is stitched in rows of fans, each one a half-round of radiating lines, arranged in two staggered tiers so the pattern reads like a frieze. The stitching is sewn flat into the leather rather than quilted deep, which keeps the surface smooth to the touch and easy to wipe.
The colour is a soft blush pink, used on back, seat and ends, and the base is a brushed-brass plinth set slightly back from the seat front. Together they give the piece a light Art Deco feel without heavy ornament.
Construction. Hardwood and plywood frame; back panel stitched over a thin foam layer to define the fans, then mounted on the frame; seat box with high-resilience foam; plinth in brushed stainless steel with a brass-tone finish, or brass-effect powder coat, over a timber core.
Where it works. Cocktail bars, patisseries and tea rooms, hotel bars and brunch restaurants. In darker colours, such as bottle green or navy, the fan stitch becomes more formal.
Options. Leather or faux leather colour, plinth finish (brass, bronze, black, timber), back height and run length in sections. Foams and coverings specified to BS 7176 medium hazard on request.
